Just a little different..

You know what's annoying about the accent thing?

It sucks all time when you can't get what they're speaking. UK has been good so far. But Northern Ireland? Well, some speak quite clear and that's no fuss but some has really strong accent that I definitely 100%-ly don't understand a single word AT ALL. And there I was trying to rule out slowly what that has just been uttered.

I would say English is mostly standardized throughout the world. Well, one is one is Malaysia, the same goes to in UK and definitely too in NI. Well, it's just the words difference they use.

We'll normally say.."I'll come pick you up...." but this side it's, "I'll come collect you...."

We'll normally say..."That's alright.." but this side it's, "That's grand.."

But all accents should be celebrated and accepted for that they are, a sign of our own individuality

Malaysia english, "I come take you.."....and "OK-la"

Countdown - 25 more days to go.

Reached there pretty early on the first day by taxi. No cars, no people, not opened yet.

Day 2 at work - Busy busy busy...

A worker bought me a bun for teatime! I love Irish peops.

Magazines to read, Sudokus to solve, and a cuppa tea/coffee/milk

I learned to take the bus and gosh was it confusing. Adult day return ticket I thought was those in Nottingham where there's unlimited travel in a day. Who knows it's only worth for 2 way travel. 

But as I said, Irish peops are super duper kind. They just let me board and said, "It's alright..."

Back home....

First time cooking a proper meal, I cut my finger with a razor sharp stainless steel knife. 

Blood oozes out like I'm lacked of clotting factor.

However, I still managed to finish cooking my meal of a weird mix.

Plain carbonara spaghetti

A cup of 'teh' aka tea with milk

That does it.

It was really funny what the pharmacist said. She was showing me the smoking cessation scheme plan and I asked her, "Does the person need to pay for the consultation and medications they get?"

Her reply, "Well, somehow Northern Ireland is very generous and loves giving out free stuff, which I myself don't know why either. Definitely does not happen in UK, aye?"

Well, difference in charge per prescription between UK and NI, one is £7.20p and another £0.00p respectively. 

什么吗？

By the way, did I say I get a lot of free time?
Tea time in the morning, lunch, tea time during noon, tea time in the evening.
The manager keeps shoo-ing me to have a break.."C'mon Josephine...Go upstairs. Take a rest, sit for 10-15minutes. Go go go aye..."

Perfect. Too good to be true. Everyone's so nice here.

Alton Towers

Anyong-ha-se-yo Alton Towers!

It has always been a tale to me how exciting western theme parks are and I can't wait!

(Ok, past tense already since I've went)

Ka yo!

When we entered, the first place we stumbled upon was Storybook Land. And the nutty squirrel car ride.

Then we saw Spinball. Sonic spinball stuff. You spin while you're in the seat. Throughout the whole ride. 

It wasn't at all dizzy but hitting myself from left to right hurts.

Next we conquer the....

Oblivion gives the chill of a colossal vertical drop. 90 degree. Sembilan puluh darjah. 九十度 .

There were some other games but we skipped em' all since the others are not very much exhilarating.

Next thrill ride was RITA. 

This was the longest hour of queue we waited for, about 2.5 hours?

We catapulted from 0-100kmph in 2.5 seconds! Talk about the difference. =.=

Then got colourful weird creatures.

We're already so short of time and so far we've only played 3 games.

We walked as fast as we could to the Forbidden City, and met Nemesis.

Since the weather was so hot, it was nice to be blown from head to toe in this ride.

Can't help it. The queue is just too long. You'll go zigzag in the queue until you wished the queue was like the one in Genting.  

Anyway, we all had a great time and everyone was exhausted at the end of the day.

Once is more than enough. The queue kills you.

Setting off to NI ALONE

And I'm off to Northern Ireland!

Taxi also got requisition form? Lols. Cool la.

Skylink operates every half hourly from 3am onwards from Friar Lane Nottingham which is really convenient and cheap. No need to take a taxi all the way to the airport (in the case where you're alone) but if travelling in a group, I suppose it's wise to just take a cab then.

On the way to Londonderry. I like this scenery. Sheep, horses, cows. So...countrified. Such folksy lifestyle.

Went to SuperValu to get some groceries. Well, things are slightly more expensive than in Nottingham but, it's bearable. :)

Now now, the house I'm staying.

The living room. Notice, Wii, XBox, LG flat screen - CHECK CHECK CHECK

Couch and a whole rack of DVDs - CHECK

Kitchen. Everything's complete. Cutleries, toaster, pot, electric kettle, oven, heat stove, washing machine, fridge, Erh, Iron also got. 

Seasoning a whole rack. No need I buy. Awesome. <3

Dining table.

My room. Queen size bed. Aihs, Paiseh. All the while I sleep on single bed, don't have double bed bedsheet so..hehehe! Half Half lah.

Got internet connection somemore. MOST-EST IMPORTANT.

Somemore got drawing. Whoa, really make my day la.

And the backyard. Well kept.

Overall, it's a really nice place but I've gotten used to Nottingham and this is a bit..well, not well suited yet for me.

Plus I'm all alone here. Company company....Anyone wants to come here? =D

By far the best steak house..

Went to London for a after exam trip and all I managed was Leicester Square. 

Talk about London. No enough, 1 day no enough.

Went on to dine at Angus Steak Houses, the first proper western restaurant I've set foot on in UK.

Drummets and Wings. Superb taste, exquisite-ness, all thanks to the gravy.

Lamb shank with mashed potato.

Rump steak with salad.

A definite place to dine in.
