Bloody Sunday

With the historic events imprinted very well in this city, the murals on the walls surrounding Bogside each explains the sequence and depicting the scenes clearly.

I have no idea why is this mural painted but...well, why not, right?
I only recognised Mother Theresa and Nelson Mendela.

TODAY

Bloody Sunday or the Bogside Massacre happened on the 30th January 1972 in the Bogside area of Derry, Northern Ireland. 26 unarmed civil rights protestors were shot by the British soldiers. On the 15th June 2010, 28 years later, the British government finally acknowledged that their soldier troops were in the wrong, as stated in the Lord Saville inquiry.

I felt privileged to be able to share the happiness and joy felt by the family members and people of Northern Ireland when the inquiry was read out.

Oh Happy Days!
