Grianan of Ailligh

Grianán Ailigh

The historical monument in County Donegal, Ireland
Built around the time of Iron Age, the stone fortress lies prominent on a hilltop, commanding views over Lough Foyle, Lough Swilly, and Londonderry.

Morphology of the fort - 3.9m thick, enclose an area of 23.4m in diameter.

Some underground dungeon. It stinks a little when you're closer to the gate.

The stones stacking up are just amazing. Layers and layers of staircases before getting up to the wall-walk.

The entrance into the fort

Beautiful view NO?

I had brain freeze within 5minutes after walking out from the car. Too cold, too windy.
